About

This blog will serve two purposes for me: to get writing again and for a purpose other than school. The other is to force myself to read some of my books. I have a large collection of books that I have picked up over the years in a couple large infusions, as well as individually. The accumulation of books is almost an addiction, and for many years they languished in boxes in my parent's attic. But no more! I have my own space, and I almost have enough bookshelves to get them all out and in one place. And now I am going to read them. I will randomly select a book, read it until I can't anymore, and then write about it here. I hope you, dear reader, enjoy it.

Book selection will be made by two dice rolls. The first to select the shelf, of which I currently have 20, and the second to select the book from that shelf. For most of the shelves, this will involve rolling two dice, combining the numbers, and subtracting 1 to get a number between 1 and however many books there are on the shelf. I am aware that this will make it so all numbers are not equally likely, but the alternative is to not use physical dice.

I will try to finish all books, but I do not consider myself obligated to finish books I hate reading. When I was young my mother would take me to the library, make me pick a book at random from the shelf, and read at least 3 chapters of it. In this blog, I am going to follow that example.

As for the writing I am going to write what comes to mind in a single sitting. I will do it as soon as I can after I finish the book.
